University Cup #4 – Ganaraska Forest

We had five McMaster cyclists riding at the final University Series race this past Sunday. Riders and spectators alike were pleased to see some sun in the morning and relief from the rain and wind on Saturday. Fall has truly arrived and Ganaraska’s beautiful singletrack was laden with leaves providing the added challenge of slippery climbs and hidden roots and rocks. To top off the course, there were several sustained climbs each lap.

In the Women’s A division, Annie and Elyse both had strong races (3rd and 5th respectively) in a field of experienced cyclists. In the Men’s B division, Mike raced brilliantly to his first U-Cup win with Chris not far behind in 5th and Jacob holding his own in 26th. Chris also finished the series tied for first overall!

While we have sadly reached the conclusion of the 2011 mountain bike season, we look forward to some winter riding and preparation for 2012! Hope to see you then!
