McMASTER FALL SPORTS WELL PLACED IN NATIONAL RANKINGS

With the fall varsity season winding down, the McMaster Marauders have enjoyed some tremendous success on the national stage, with all six maroon teams that competed for national championships, appearing in the CIS top-ten rankings.

The Marauder football team will work to extend their dream season. After winning the OUA Yates Cup, McMaster tackles Acadia in the Uteck Bowl with a Vanier Cup berth on the line. McMaster was ranked 4th in the last CIS football top-ten.

Both McMaster soccer teams ended the year as nationally-ranked squads. The Mac men’s team captured the OUA title and advanced to the CIS championship, where it finished in 6th place. The Marauder women’s team made it to the OUA final-four, before being eliminated and were ranked 10th in the final women’s soccer top-ten of the season.

The women’s cross country team captured the CIS bronze medal to end the season as the 3rd ranked team in Canada, while the men’s cross country team ended the season rated 6th in the final top-ten ranking.

And last but not least, the women’s rugby team was OUA runner-up and advanced to the CIS national tournament, where it finished in 5th position.

So far, a tremendous fall season with hopefully more success on the horizon.
