As the host of the 2012 CIS Women’s Volleyball Championship, McMaster Athletics & Recreation wants to ensure the event has a lasting impact on the sport in the local area. Working with the Ontario Volleyball Association, McMaster will host a two-day Coaching Symposium in conjunction with the Women’s Championship, on March 3 & 4, 2012.
2012 marks the first time in 16 years that Canada’s top university women’s teams will contest the national title in Ontario. This event will showcase some tremendous women’s volleyball talent and will bring together the local volleyball community.
It will also offer the rare opportunity for coaches from the Golden Horseshoe, and beyond, to attend the OVA Symposium and enjoy some outstanding professional development from some of Canada’s top volleyball coaches.
Presenters that will be appearing at the McMaster event include:
Lupo Ludwig, Head Coach, Canadian Women’s National Team
Paul Duerden, Former Men’s National Team and professional player
Kari Schneider, Professional Strength and Conditioning Trainer and former Strength Coach for Canadian Men’s and Women’s National Volleyball Teams.
Scott Koskie, Former Men’s National Team player and current Assistant Coach with the Canadian Women’s National Team.
