TOP 10 TUESDAY: NINE McMASTER TEAMS RANKED IN TOP 10

Nine Marauder teams made appearances in the CIS top-10 rankings on Tuesday, as swimming debuted its first poll of the year.

McMaster's football team remained at no. 3 in Tuesday's top ten, after maintaining their perfect conference record with a 27-10 victory over the Laurier Golden Hawks on Saturday. The Marauders clinched the top spot in the OUA standings with the win, and a bye through the first playoff round. McMaster concludes its conference season with a visit to Ottawa to play the Gee-Gees on Saturday.

The Marauder women's rugby team dropped one place from second to third in Tuesday's poll, after defeating the Western Mustangs 24-10 to advance to the OUA Championship on Saturday. McMaster was overtaken by the undefeated St. Francis Xavier, the top seed in Atlantic University Sport. The Marauders will have an opportunity to win the OUA crown on home soil on Saturday, when they welcome the Guelph Gryphons to Ron Joyce Stadium at 4:00 p.m.

McMaster's cross country teams held firm in their positions of a week ago, after a weekend without competition. The Marauders enter their final week of training before the OUA Championships, which take place on Saturday, October 25 in Kingston.

The Marauders made prominent appearances in the first swimming rankings of the season, as the men debuted at no. 2 and the women at no. 4. McMaster dropped a duel meet to the top-ranked Toronto Varsity Blues on Saturday, before claiming the top spot at the Badger Invitational in St. Catharines the following day. They enjoy a few weeks away from competition, before travelling across the border to compete at the University of New York at Buffalo on November 8.

The Marauder volleyball teams, meanwhile, headed in different directions in Tuesday's poll. After sweeping both of their games to open the season, the Marauder women entered the rankings at the 10 spot, while the men dropped a place to third after an opening-night loss to Western. The men continue their home stand to begin the season on Friday and Saturday, when they welcome the Ryerson Rams and Toronto Varsity Blues to the Burridge Gym. McMaster's women will travel to Ottawa, for an OUA Championship rematch against the Gee-Gees on Saturday.

The Marauder men's soccer team moved up a place in Tuesday's rankings after closing out its regular season with a pair of wins against the Algoma Thunderbirds. McMaster clinched a playoff bye, and will host an OUA quarterfinal on Saturday at Ron Joyce Stadium.
