CRAPIGNA, EISHO AND MALCOLM SELECTED IN 2014 CFL DRAFT

Professional opportunities were extended to three Marauders on Tuesday, as kicker Tyler Crapigna, linebacker Aram Eisho and long snapper Kevin Malcolm were selected in the 2014 CFL Draft.

Crapigna -- who famously kicked the winning field goal in overtime to clinch McMaster's 2011 Vanier Cup victory -- was the first Marauder off the board, being chosen 40th overall by the Calgary Stampeders in the fifth round. The two-time All-Canadian will join the Stampeders' record-setting starter, Rene Paredes, in Calgary.

The call came much later for Eisho and Malcolm, who were picked up in quick succession in the draft's seventh and final round. Following just his third season in Maroon and Grey, the 2012 President's Trophy winner as the OUA's top stand-up defender, Eisho was selected 56th overall by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He will travel to Winnipeg to gain valuable experience in a competitive atmosphere, as the Bombers look to rebuild and rebound following a disappointing 2013 season.

Malcolm earned the distinction as the final player selected in Tuesday's draft, chosen 65th overall by the expansion Ottawa REDBLACKS. The offensive lineman, who has served as McMaster's long snapper, will train in that role alongside longtime Hamilton Tiger-Cat Kevin Scott.

The first taste of professional football for all three players will come in early June, when CFL teams launch their respective training camps.
