Top Ten Tuesday: Four Mac Teams Remain in National Polls

McMaster's representatives in the CIS top 10 rankings successfully defended their positions for another week, as all four Marauders teams in the national polls, women's rugby, football and cross country, reappeared in Tuesday's fresh poll.

After clinching a perfect regular season regular of 5-0 with a season-ending 43-7 over the Western Mustangs, the defending CIS champion Marauders retained the country's top spot, which they have enjoyed since the opening of the rankings in 2016.

McMaster embarks on the defence of their national title in earnest Friday, when they host the Toronto Varsity Blues in an OUA quarterfinal at Ron Joyce Stadium. That game kicks off at 7:00 p.m. and will be free to attend.

Improving their record to 5-1 in their final home appearance of the regular season, the Marauders football team kept hold of no. 8 in the newest Football Reporters of Canada poll. Another defensive gem, led by a 4-5-sack performance from Mike Kashak, and the kicking prowess of rookie Adam Preocanin, helped Mac to a 36-6 victory over the Queen's Gaels and kept them in the mix for top spot in the OUA.

That quest continues on Saturday, October 15, when the Marauders travel to York to take on the Lions in a 1 p.m. matinee.
