The “M” Club was launched in 2008 by a handful of community minded individuals who wanted to make a difference for McMaster University. The goal was to focus on raising money to fund Athletic & Recreation priorities, which largely included Athletic Financial Awards and Championship Funds.
Today the well-established program helps to support our Athletics and Recreation Department in our pursuit of excellence. Thanks to the program over 100 student-athletes receive support annually and we clinched our first football national championship. Most importantly, one third of our student-athletes achieved an overall average greater than 80% in the classroom.
In the long-term, the objective is to build a club capable of providing Athletics and Recreation with the support not only to achieve its goals, but also to exceed them for years to come. In the near term, the objective is to build off our past success and to use the additional funds for Athletic Financial Awards, the expansion of our new Academic Success Program, and high performance training opportunities for our elite student-athletes.

Membership Options & Accountability
Both corporate and private memberships are available. Corporate memberships are sponsorships that provide specific benefits and exposure. Sponsorship packages will be customized to best meet the needs of the sponsor. Private members will be eligible to receive a donation receipt in lieu of benefits, in most cases, for the entire amount of their contribution.
To become an M Club member the minimum contribution level is $2,500.00.
All funds raised through the M Club will be administered by the Director of Athletics and Recreation.
On an annual basis a full report will be made available to all members outlining the source and use of funds throughout the year along with information on progress made and new developments.
The M Club breakfasts will be used for reporting, collaboration and brainstorming. Collectively, we are stronger together and as an integral part of our team we would like to include you in our pursuit of excellence. Breakfast hosts will vary from coaches, to senior administration to club members. Agendas will be sent one week prior to the breakfast although a relatively inform approach will be taken.
